How comfortable you are when working in the bathroom will in part depend on the bathroom vanity you install. A bathroom vanity gets used all throughout the day. If you select the wrong one chances are it will be a constant thorn in your side. There are several things to think about when selecting a bathroom vanity.
The first thing to think about is who will typically use the bathroom. Think about the number of people who will use this bathroom. Bathrooms that are used by everyone in the family, are likely to see a lot of traffic. This means you will need a vanity that can hold up under lots of wear and tear. The top of your vanity will quickly become scratched and dented when many people use it all day long.
Consider putting in a vanity with double sinks if there will be several people using the bathroom. This can make the room much more efficient. Consider how tall the main users of the bathroom will be. A very tall user will like a tall vanity while it may be a good idea to have a shorter vanity if you have small children.
Also think about how much storage space you will need in the vanity. Look at the total space you have in your bathroom and the items that you need to store. Many of furniture pieces which have been transformed into bathroom vanities may not have as much storage as you think. Usually as least one of the drawers has had to be removed to make enough room for the plumbing for the sink. The top surface of your vanity should be able to hold up under the level of use it will see. Some vanities will come with a countertop while other times you will buy the base and the top individually. If there are small children using the bathroom look for a vanity with a easily cleaned durable surface.
