These days being eco friendly is more fashionable than ever. A few years ago we could take as many plastic carrier bags as we wanted when we did the weekly shop. In most of the larger supermarket you now have to ask for carrier bags. We now have our recycling picked up form our house by the council and are encourage to recycle as much as possible. You could probably save money in all the rooms in your house by being eco friendly. The bathroom always seems to get missed when doing a green overhaul of the house. They’ll be at least one bathroom in every house with some having even more. No matter how small it is, they’ll be ways you can make it eco friendly.

Things like the lighting are going to be the simplest things to adapt. The traditional incandescent light bulb is becoming rarer but some people still use them. Over the next year they’re going to be phased out of shops. An energy efficient light bulb will be an average 90% longer lasting then traditional bulbs. They also don’t lose as much heat making them safer too. Bathroom lights need to be flattering whilst being bright enough to see what you’re doing.

The toilet might take a bit more planning compared to changing a light bulb. Each time you flush your toilet it can be using up to 14 litres. By opting for a more modern design you’ll only being using a fraction of that. Duel flush toilets also allow you to lose even less water for when you’re just flushing water waste.

A lot of water will be used by that lovely long hot bath you like to soak in at the end of the day. Over 80 litres will end up being poured straight down the drain every time you take a bath. By having a shower instead of a bath you’ll save a lot of water and if you only have a bath once in a while it will be more special. By using a state of the art shower head like the ones offered by Mira Showers you could be saving even more water.
