Home remodeling jobs can be frustrating at times. Make sure to have a guide or instructions handy for easy reference. We have some basic instructions here for you in an easy step by step format. We will walk through removing the old towel bar also.

Getting the surface prepared is the first step. Using a grout saw you should cut around the tiles where you want the brackets. Use masking tape to support it and go around the old mounting bracket.

Take off the towel bar and also the old brackets. Clean the surface really good. Inspect to see that your new bracket will hide the spot where the old one was.

Next you will get the wall ready to be drilled. Can you use the old screws?  Use the old holes if you can, or you will need new holes for your hollow wall anchors.

Position the first bracket, mark it, and do the same with the second. Use a level to make sure it is even with the first. I would advise using a carbide tipped mason bit with an electric drill. Use the lowest speed settings on the drill.

If your brackets don’t have screw holes then go ahead and apply the adhesive. Press the bracket on and allow drying time. If you have screws then go ahead and seat the anchors into place.

Go ahead and screw in the brackets and seat the bar. Properly tighten the the setscrews with a screw driver. You can grout the tile joints you cut out.

You can enjoy having installed a new towel bar. That wasn’t so hard? In home fix up projects always get easier as you gain experience and confidence.
